What is a Designer Event / Trunk Show?

Are you in love with a particular bridal designer’s collection? If so, a Designer Event, sometimes known as a ‘trunk show’, can be the best time to find ‘the one’!

Once a year we have a designer’s entire new season collection in store for a limited time. At a Designer Event you’ll be able to browse a far larger selection and try dresses that would otherwise not be available (some of which may be pre-release). Every single new season gown in one place, just for you - what could be better!

As if that isn’t exciting enough, there will often be discounts on offer and extra gifts for all brides who purchase their dress during the event. We always make sure these events are extra special with additional treats awaiting you in the studio.

A bigger selection, dresses straight off the catwalk, the best prices, plus extra gifts mean the hype around these events really is worthy.

How is a Designer Event different?

As a designer’s stockist, we hold a great range of their dresses in store as samples. But, unfortunately, we do not have the space to hold every single gown at any one moment. The space in the studio is usually shared among our other designers.

At a Designer Event, we showcase one designer and you will have the full selection of their gowns. Perfect if you have your heart set on a particular collection.

Appointments for these events are often the first to go. During the designer event we still provide exclusive use of the studio, bubbles to celebrate and your own personal stylist. So if you’re dreaming of walking down the aisle in one of our collections, keep an eye on our website and socials (we announce Designer Events on them first).

Preparing for a Designer Event

We highly recommend doing your research on the style of gown you are looking for and be sure to check out the designer’s collection before booking. The more ideas and knowledge you bring to your appointment the better!

We recommend attending any other appointments you wish to before the Designer Event as in our experience you will, more often than not, have that ‘yes’ moment.

It is also worth considering who you will bring with you to the Designer Event. If you can’t imagine saying ‘yes’ without particular friends or family being there, it is best to check their availability. The dresses are returned to the designer at the end of the event and sadly not available for further appointments to re try.

Saying ‘yes’ to your dress

Once you’ve chosen your dream dress at your appointment, all it takes is a part payment to secure your gown. You can then leave buzzing to have not only found your dream dress but having had an amazing experience and with a luxury goody bag in tow.

Q: What actually is a trunk show?

A trunk show is a special, limited-time event where we feature a much larger selection of gowns from a specific designer. You’ll get to try styles that aren’t usually in-store, including new releases, exclusives, and even some unreleased designs.

Q: Are the dresses different from your usual collection?

Yes! Trunk show gowns are brought in just for this event, so you’ll have access to designs we don’t normally carry, often for one weekend or a few weeks only.

Q: Is there a discount or special offer?

Yes—there will be exclusive in-store offers for brides who say yes to the dress during their initial appointment. Plus, each bride who purchases will receive a free MWL canvas tote, and there may even be a little extra surprise in store…

Q: Do I need to book in advance?

Absolutely! Trunk show appointments are limited and in high demand, so we recommend booking early to secure your preferred date and time.

3. Don’t Stress About Sizes

Thanks to the extended size range during the event, we’ll have more try-on options to help you visualise your dream dress, no matter your shape or size.
